Abstract：Diluted magnetic semiconductors based on Mn-doped III-Vs are interesting systems that display hole-mediated and electric-field-tunable ferromagnetic order. In this talk we will review the closely correlated magnetic, electrical and structural properties of these materials, with particular focus on (Ga,Mn)As. We will also discuss the wide tunability of these properties that is induced by changes in the chemical composition, with (Ga,Mn)(As,P) and (Al,Ga,Mn)As as examples.

报告人简介：Kevin Williams Edmonds, Reader (Associate Professor)，Visiting Professor of CAS, obtained his PhD in 2000, University of Leicester. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher from 02/2000 to 09/2003 in University of Nottingham. Dr. Edmonds was awarded the Royal Society of London University Research Fellowship in 2003, which was extended in 2008. Dr. Edmonds was promoted to Reader position in 2008. Dr. Edmonds was awarded the visiting professorship for Senior International Scientists of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. Dr. Edmonds is the Member of the EPSRC Peer Review College. He is the co-ordinator of a cross-European initial training network in semiconductor spintronics, including research and training partnerships with leading academic and industrial research groups from 9 EU countries. Led or participated in experiments at leading synchrotron x-ray facilities in the US (Advanced Light Source), France (ESRF), Germany (BESSY). Member of the User Working Group for the I10 beamline at Diamond Light Source. Dr. Edmonds’s current research interests are in spintronics, nanomagnetism, and polarized x-ray spectroscopy. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, average citations per article >20, H-index = 26. Since 2003, he has given 15 invited talks at international conferences and workshops.
