Abstract:Silicon based convergence of microelectronics and optoelectronics allows new opportunities in a series of important applications, including telecommunication , fiber to the home , board to board interconnects, on chip optical clock distribution for faster computers, high resolution night vision arrays, switching of optical nodes , contact free separation of different supply voltages, sensors for bio-…….In this talk the essential components of such systems and their physical functions are explained.From the given maturity of different components the possible near future solutions are discussed and evaluated. Heterostructure engineering based on the material system Silicon/Germanium (Si/Ge) is of key importance for practical solutions.
报告人简介:Erich Kasper教授自1994年以来一直担任德国斯图加特大学半导体研究所所长。Erich Kasper教授长期从事量子电子器件的理论和纳米结构自组织的器件结构MBE研究工作,在SiGe的研究领域具有很高的国际声望,并有两本专著和近百篇论文发表。Erich Kasper教授曾两次来所讲学,热心于中德两国半导体界的学术交流与合作。
